Accessory Side Steps Installation

Removal Procedure: 

The procedure for the left-hand component is identical to that for the right-hand side. 

1. Lift the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE
2. Remove front side door. Refer to FRONT SIDE DOOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
3. Remove rear side door. Refer to REAR SIDE DOOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
4. Remove front wheel opening molding. Refer to FRONT WHEEL OPENING MOLDING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
5. Remove rear wheel opening molding. Refer to REAR WHEEL OPENING MOLDING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
6. Remove both rocker panel moldings. Refer to ROCKER PANEL MOLDING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

Installation Procedure:

1. Insert the side step reinforcement (1) into the outer casing (2) in arrow direction

2. Attach and install 12 expanding rivets (1).

3. Install the side step guard (2).
4. Attach and install 11 blind rivets (1) with riveting pliers.

5. Align the side step (1) with the guide (2).

6. Clip in the side step lining (1).

7. Install all clips (1) in the side step panelling.

8. Install both seal rings (1).

9. Attach and align side step (1).
10. Fasten 10 clips (2).

11. Insert and tighten 3 bolts (1).

    Torque: 19 Nm

12. Insert and tighten 3 bolts (1).

    Torque: 19 Nm

13. Install 3 sealing plugs (1).

14. Attach 3 lids (1).

15. Insert and tighten 8 screws (1).

    Torque: 2.6 Nm

16. Install both rivets (1) in front wheelhouse.

17. Install rivet (1) in rear wheelhouse.
18. Install rear tire air deflector. Refer to REAR TIRE AIR DEFLECTOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
19. Install rear wheel opening molding. Refer to REAR WHEEL OPENING MOLDING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
20. Install front wheel opening molding. Refer to FRONT WHEEL OPENING MOLDING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
21. Install rear side door. Refer to REAR SIDE DOOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
22. Install front side door  . Refer to FRONT SIDE DOOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
