Brake Actuator: Installation
NOTE:
In case of replacing the skid control ECU, perform the zero point calibration of the steering angle sensor, master cylinder pressure sensor, and yaw rate and deceleration sensor (See CALIBRATION
).
- INSTALL VSC ACTUATOR WITH ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY
- Install the VSC actuator with actuator bracket with the 3 nuts.NOTE: Do not drop the actuator. If dropped, replace it.
- Tighten the 3 nuts uniformly in alphabetical order.
Torque: 22 N*m (224 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf)
NOTE: Do not damage the brake lines or wire harness.
- Install the VSC actuator with actuator bracket with the 3 nuts.
- CONNECT BRAKE TUBE
- Set each brake line to the correct position on the brake actuator as shown in the illustration.
- Install the clamp onto the VSC actuator bracket.
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the 4 brake tubes.
- Without union nut wrench
Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
- With union nut wrench
Torque: 14 N*m (144 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.) (See PRECAUTION ).
- This torque value is effective when union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
- INSTALL BRAKE TUBE
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the 2 brake tubes to the brake master cylinder.
- Without union nut wrench
Torque: 20 N*m (199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
- With union nut wrench
Torque: 18 N*m (185 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.) (See PRECAUTION ).
- This torque value is effective when union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the 2 brake tubes to the VSC actuator.
- Without union nut wrench
Torque: 20 N*m (199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
- With union nut wrench
Torque: 18 N*m (185 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.) (See PRECAUTION ).
- This torque value is effective when union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the 2 brake tubes to the brake master cylinder.
- CONNECT VSC ACTUATOR CONNECTOR
- Connect the VSC actuator connector.
