Power Source Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect transponder key amplifier connector. Measure voltage between terminals No. 3 (White/Black wire) and No. 5 (Black wire) at transponder key amplifier connector. Voltage should be 9-14 volts. If voltage is as specified, perform next step as listed. See TROUBLE SHOOTING SYMPTOMS  table under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
  2. Remove and inspect EFI1 fuse. Check continuity of EFI1 fuse. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, check for shorts in all harnesses and circuits connected to EFI1 fuse.
  3. Check connectors and wiring between transponder key amplifier and body ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair or replace as necessary. If connectors and wiring are okay, check connectors and wiring between transponder key amplifier and battery. Repair or replace as necessary.
