Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

Located on the transmission, it turns ON when the select lever is in the Park or Neutral position. ECM detects whether the transmission is in the parking or neutral state or in any other state through this ON/OFF signal and uses it as one of the signals to control fuel injectors and idle air control valve.
