Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH - BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector of shift lever assy.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      4 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Press continuously transmission control switch 2 - 4 Below 1 Ω
      Release transmission control switch 10 kΩ or higher
    1. NG : REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH 
    2. OK : Go to next step. 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION CONTROL SWITCH - ECM)

    1. Connect the transmission control switch connector of shift lever assy.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Press continuously transmission control switch E5 - 29 (ODMS) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
      Release transmission control switch 10 kΩ or higher
    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN ON PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
