DTC P1245: Intake Plenum Switchover Valve: Description

Intake manifold contains an intake plenum switchover valve. It is a moveable divider that changes the airflow characteristics of the intake manifold. Switchover vacuum solenoid valve is controlled by ECM. Power is supplied to solenoid through main relay located in underhood fuse block. ECM controls solenoid by an internal driver circuit. When ECM is commanding solenoid off, feedback voltage at intake plenum switchover should be high (battery voltage). ECM monitors continuously intake plenum switchover solenoid control circuit for open, short to ground or short to voltage. DTC sets when ECM detects an open, short to ground or short to voltage on intake plenum switchover solenoid control circuit.
