CONCERNS

Documentation of the replacement of control units and software updates in the USA Maintenance book and Canadian Warranty and Maintenance book.

INFORMATION

Replacement of control units or software updates for them must be recorded on the appropriate pages of the Warranty and Maintenance booklet for the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo vehicles.

This documentation is a record of replacement and/or updated versions in the vehicle. Whenever a control unit is replaced or new software is installed into a control unit with the Porsche System Tester 2 (PST 2), this must be entered on the appropriate pages in the above-mentioned booklets.

WORK PROCEDURE

  1. Complete the documentation as follows when replacing control units:

    The information below must be entered before installation, since it will not be possible to read the necessary data after installation/assembly.

    1. System/control unit - (e.g. DME, Tiptronic, PSM)
    2. Part number - (Porsche part No.; listed on the control unit/packaging)
    3. Serial number - (listed on the control unit)
    4. Data record designation - (do not fill out)
    5. At mileage/kilometers - (current mileage/kilometers of the vehicle)
    6. On - (date/dd.mm.yy)
    7. Workshop No. - (Dealer Code)
  2. Complete the documentation as follows when updating software:
    1. System/control unit - (e.g. DME, Tiptronic, PSM)
    2. Part number - (do not fill out)
    3. Serial number - (do not fill out)
    4. Data record designation - (as shown on the PST2, e.g. "USA (Tiptronic)"
    5. At mileage/kilometers (current mileage/kilometers of the vehicle)
    6. On - (date/dd.mm.yy)
    7. Workshop No. - (Dealer Code)
