CONCERNS

Kessy control unit/immobilizer complaint:

Radio remote control for central locking system not functioning, although the battery of the remote control is ok (vehicle has "Central locking system" feature),
Engine shutdown not possible (vehicle has "Entry & Drive" feature).

INFORMATION

The complaint occurs in the case of .. :

"Central locking system" feature: after overloading of the central control unit's communication system due to incorrect data exchange (processor "hangs").
"Entry & Drive" feature: after fast left-right turns (at least two) of the control module in the ignition lock with the engine running. The Kessy control unit/immobilizer interrupts the connection between the ignition lock and terminal 15.

As a remedy, install a new control unit with modified software.

The new Kessy control unit/immobilizer must be programmed with the Porsche System Tester 2 and the software 16.2 (or higher); refer to the Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 9, Chapter 96-18 Removing and installing the control unit for Kessy/immobilizer.
