Fuel System Bleeding

  1. Whenever fuel filter is replaced, filter must be bled in the following manner: Loosen fuel filter air vent plug. Pump head of filter in an up and down motion. Continue to pump until fuel flows from air vent plug hole free of air bubbles. Depress head of filter and close air vent plug.
  2. If engine should run out of fuel during operation and air enters injection system or whenever injection pump is removed, system must be bled in the following manner: Bleed air from fuel filter. Pump plunger of fuel filter until air bubbles disappear (about 15 times).
