Control Switch

XJR and XJ6 models have 3 switches: a master switch (OFF/ON), an accelerate switch (SET/ACCEL) and a RESUME button, which are located to the right of the steering column. XJ8 models have 5 switches: a master switch (ON/OFF), speed increase or decrease switches (SET - or SET +) and cancel/resume cruise control switches (CANCEL or RES).

To operate, move master switch to ON position. Accelerate vehicle in a normal manner until required cruising speed is reached. Press SET switch to hold speed and release, then remove foot from accelerator pedal. Vehicle will automatically maintain SET speed.

Speed of vehicle can be increased by depressing accelerator pedal. Selected speed will resume when accelerator pedal is released.

Aadjust cruising speed by pressing SET/ACCEL switch until desired speed is reached and release.

Cruise control will disengage when brake pedal is depressed. If vehicle speed is above 25 MPH, original set speed can be recalled by pressing and releasing RESUME button.

Cruise control will operate when gear selector is in "2", "3" or "D". System will automatically disengage when brake pedal is pressed or speed falls below 25 MPH. To cancel speed control and erase the electronic memory, move master switch to OFF position or turn ignition switch off.
