Coil Operation Check

  1. Connect a 12-volt test lamp to negative terminal of ignition coil. See Fig 1. Ground test lamp.

    Use 12-volt lamp with ignition turned "ON". 

  2. Crank the engine, but do not start it. Test lamp should flicker slightly.
