2000 MODEL YEAR STARTING PROCEDURES

ISUZU:	All 2000 Trooper, VehiCROSS, Rodeo, Amigo
AFFECTED VEHICLES:	All model year 2000 Trooper, VehiCROSS, Rodeo and Amigo models with 3.2L or 3.5L engine and Electronic Throttle Control.

Service Information

All models with Electronic Throttle Control will crank but will not start if the accelerator pedal is depressed during the cranking mode.

During the crank mode the PCM looks for a base key-off default throttle angle of 9.5 degrees followed by a key-on angle of 7.5 degrees base idle value. If the 7.5 degree value for the fully Closed Check is not present at crank mode, the vehicle will not start.

To avoid this condition, inform your 2000 model year Isuzu customers not to depress the accelerator pedal during the crank mode.
