Possible Causes

Malfunction is detected when:

• Next gear position signal and current gear position signal are not in normal pattern compared with shift pattern signal.
• Next gear position signal and current gear position signal are different even though shift change signal is off.

Possible causes are:

• CAN communication line circuit is open or shorted.
• Defective TCM.
• Defective A/T unit assembly.
