Checking Fluid Level

With vehicle on level surface, start engine and operate at idle speed. With parking brake applied, place selector lever in Neutral, then remove dipstick and check fluid level. Transmission should be at operating temperature when checking fluid level (120-180°F). Fluid level should be within the ``HOT'' range on dipstick. If necessary, add Dexron II fluid to bring fluid level within the ``HOT'' range.
