Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Do not torque the fasteners until they have all have been started.

  1. Install the rocker panel protector to the vehicle.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Loosely install all of the mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the EVAP canister vent valve bracket. Refer to EVAP CANISTER VENT VALVE .
  4. Install the assist step if equipped. Refer to Assist Step Replacement (Tubular BVE)  or Assist Step Replacement (Removable U Step) .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
