Front Strut and Spring Assembly: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the windshield wiper motor. Refer to: Windshield Wiper Motor .
- Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- If equipped, On both sides. Remove the bolt and position aside the ride height sensor arm bracket.
General Equipment
: Ford approved diagnostic tool
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

- Remove the bolt and position aside the brake hose.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.
Remove the nut and position aside front stabilizer bar link and wheel speed sensor wiring harness aside.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- Remove the bolt and position aside the brake hose.
- On both sides, Remove and discard the wheel knuckle-to-strut bolt and separate the wheel knuckle from the front strut and spring assembly.
Torque:
Stage 1: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
Stage 2: 180 °
- On both sides, Remove the strut upper bolts, and the front strut and spring assembly.
Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
