Principles of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Lincoln Town Car. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The lighting control module (LCM) receives a voltage input from the brake pedal position (BPP) switch and provides power to the brake shift interlock solenoid, in order to allow the driver to shift the vehicle out of PARK. The LCM receives inputs and provides outputs over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) network communication to control the exterior and interior (including the cluster and panel illumination) lighting systems on the vehicle. The perimeter alarm is controlled by the LCM, which receives inputs from the perimeter alarm switches and arms the alarm when commanded.
