Pinpoint Test F - Generator
- Measure voltage at battery terminals. If voltage is at least 11.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than specified, charge or replace battery as necessary.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage by backprobing Black/White wire terminal at ABS control module. Battery voltage should exist. Turn ignition off. Again measure voltage. No voltage should exist. If voltages are as specified, go to next step. If voltages are not as specified, repair Black/White wire between fuse panel and control module.
- Start and idle engine. Measure voltage at Brown wire at alternator. Voltage should be about 13-14 volts. With ignition on and engine not running, voltage should be about one volt. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair or replace alternator.
- Start and idle engine. Measure voltage at Brown wire at ABS module connector. Battery voltage should exist. With ignition on and engine not running, voltage should be about one volt. If voltage is as specified, go to PINPOINT TEST G . If voltage is not as specified, repair Brown wire between alternator and ABS control module.
