Oxygen Sensor: Description and Operation

Description

This sensor is located in the exhaust manifold and provides a voltage (in millivolts) for the microprocessor that is proportional to the oxygen content in the exhaust gas.

A lean air/fuel mixture causes the exhaust gas to have a greater oxygen content. A rich air/fuel mixture causes the exhaust gas to have less oxygen content.
