Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove passenger side kick panel. Disconnect powertrain control module (PCM)/engine control module (ECM) retaining clip from PCM/ECM mounting base. See Fig 1 . Remove retaining clip lower end from mounting base. Remove PCM/ECM from mounting base. See Fig 2 . Disconnect PCM/ECM connectors from PCM/ECM.
  2. To install, connect PCM/ECM connectors to PCM/ECM. See Fig 2 . Insert and align PCM/ECM into mounting base. Insert retaining clip lower end into mounting base. See Fig 1 . Connect retaining clip to mounting base. Install passenger side kick panel. Connect negative battery cable. Perform a crankshaft position system variation learning procedure.
