Refrigerant Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Inspection:

REFRIGERANT-TEMPERATURE SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK
1. Immerse the refrigerant-temperature switch in engine oil.
2. Use an ohmmeter to check continuity when the engine oil has become heated.

ON (continuity) temperature Approx. 165 °C (329 °F) or less.

OFF (no continuity) temperature Approx. 165 °C (329 °F) or more (until the temperature drops to approx. 110 °C (230 °F) when OFF).

CAUTION: Do not heat the oil more than necessary.
