Accessing Trouble Codes
NOTE:
Trouble codes are erased when ignition is turned off. It may be necessary to drive vehicle to obtain and store codes. Connect a battery charger to battery and apply slow charge while testing system (if necessary).
- Fully release parking brake. Turn ignition on. Check if Red or Amber warning light comes on. If not, it may be necessary to drive vehicle. Once a fault is indicated Red or Amber light is on), stop vehicle if driving. DO NOT turn ignition off.
- Depress brake pedal firmly. After about 5 seconds, Red BRAKE light should begin to flash. Count number of flashes to obtain stored code. If light flashes, stays on continuously or does not come on at all, see FAULT CODES table and appropriate chart at end of article.
