Bleeding Brake System

  1. Brake system can be bled using manual method or hydraulic unit to pressurize system. To manually bleed brake system, depressurize brake system before opening any bleeder screw.
  2. With ignition off, pump brake pedal 25 times using full pedal strokes. When a definite increase in pedal effort is felt, pump pedal 2 more times. DO NOT  turn ignition on any time system is being manually bled.
  3. To bleed system using hydraulic unit, depressurize brake system. With ignition off. Depress brake pedal 25 times or more to depressurize brake system. Ensure reservoir is full. Open bleeder screw. Turn ignition on. Allow pump/motor assembly to run until brake fluid from bleeder screw contains no air.
  4. Close bleeder screw. Turn ignition off. Depressurize brake system. Fill reservoir with brake fluid. Perform same procedure as previously described for each wheel.
