Setup New Body Control Module
NOTE:
Body Control Module (BCM) will not function properly if setup new BCM procedure is not performed. Perform theft deterrent re-learn procedure after successfully finishing setup new BCM procedure. If theft deterrent re-learn procedure is not performed after BCM replacement, following conditions may occur: Vehicle will not be protected against theft by PASSLOCK system. Engine will not crank or start.
NOTE:
After procedure has been completed, personalization of BCM defaults to a default setting. Inform customer that personalization settings must be set again.
- Connect a scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel.
- Turn ignition on, with engine off.
- Follow instructions on Techline Terminal and scan tool to program BCM.
- If BCM fails to accept program, perform following steps: Inspect all BCM connections. Verify that Techline Terminal and Scan Tool have latest software version.
After programming, perform following to avoid future misdiagnosis.
- Turn ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
- Connect scan tool to data link connector.
- Turn ignition on, with engine off.
- Use scan tool in order to retrieve History DTCs from all modules.
- Clear all history DTCs.
