Code A091, Open Brake Switch Contacts During Deceleration: Notes

This code is used to detect an open brake switch in non-ABS mode. The EBCM looks for decel rates which would indicate a braking action and verifies this assumption by requiring several repeat detections. ABS braking action will not be available because EBCM does not see a brake switch signal.

1. Determines if brake switch signal is being received by EBCM.
2. Indicates if an open circuit exists in brake switch or brake lamp circuit.
3. Isolates open circuit to either brake switch input circuit or EBCM.
