Intake Plenum: Installation
- Remove the masking from the intake plenum ports and ensure the sealing surfaces are clean and dry. Lightly coat the intake plenum "O" ring seals with clean engine oil and install to the intake manifold.
- Position the intake plenum to the intake manifold, aligning the pins. See Fig 4
. Install the intake plenum bolts. Tighten intake plenum bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Install intake plenum bolt caps. Install 2 bolts securing ECM bracket to intake plenum. Tighten ECM bracket bolts to specification in sequence. See Fig 5
.
- Connect the vacuum brake booster hose to vacuum source. Install throttle body inlet hose/pipe-to-intake plenum bolt. Tighten bolt to specification.
- Connect electrical connector and vacuum hoses to intake manifold tuning valve solenoid at rear of the plenum. See Fig 3
. Position remote power steering reservoir to engine. Install remote power steering reservoir mounting bolts and tighten to specification. See Fig 2
.
- Connect crankcase ventilation dirty air hose retainer to fuel pipe. Apply clean engine oil to crankcase vent adapter seal. Position crankcase vent adapter to intake plenum. See Fig 1
.
- Install 3 bolts securing crankcase vent adapter to intake plenum. Tighten crankcase vent adapter bolts to specification. Inspect throttle body and crankcase vent tube "O" ring seals and replace if necessary. Lightly lubricate the "O" ring seals with clean engine oil.
- Position throttle body to intake plenum and crankcase vent adapter. Install bolts securing throttle body to intake plenum. Tighten throttle body bolts to specification.
- Connect fuel pressure regulator atmospheric vent tube to bottom of throttle body. Install intake plenum air inlet hose clamps and hoses to throttle body.
