Intermediate Shaft: Installation

  1. Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft (C) contacts the transmission (differential) thoroughly with solvent or carburetor cleaner, and dry with compressed air. Insert the intermediate shaft assembly into the differential. Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal to prevent damage to the differential oil seal. See Figure .
  2. Install the flange bolt (A) and the two dowel bolts (B). See Figure and TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the right axle shaft. See FRONT AXLE SHAFTS  .
