Section 12 (Front Suspension): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Acura Integra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use extreme care when working around Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) wiring and components at front fenderwell. All SRS wiring harnesses and connectors are color-coded Yellow. DO NOT damage this wiring.

All models except MDX, use independent wishbone MacPherson strut front suspension. Vertically mounted strut assembly is attached to lower control arm by a fork assembly. See Fig 1, Fig 3 or Fig 4 . Steering knuckle is attached to upper and lower control arms by ball joints. A stabilizer bar and radius rod (if equipped) are attached to the lower control arm. On MDX models, steering knuckle is attached to lower control arm by ball joint and upper portion of knuckle is attached to strut. The stabilizer bar attaches to stabilizer link that attaches to the strut. See Fig 2.
