Removal & Installation: Solenoid: Removal
- Bleed high pressure from maintenance bleeder screw. See RELIEVING ACCUMULATOR/LINE PRESSURE
under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM. Without removing pump inlet line, remove brake fluid from modulator reservoir. Remove reservoir strainer. See Fig 1

- Remove 2 screws from inside of modulator reservoir, and remove reservoir. Screw 6-mm bolt into center of solenoid head. Tighten bolt until solenoid head can be lifted off solenoids. Lift solenoid head, and set it aside without disconnecting pump inlet line.
- Remove solenoid set plate bolts and loosen solenoid set plate. Turn solenoid valves several times, freeing valves in bore. Turn solenoids 1/2 turn to align solenoid tab with cutout in set plate. Remove solenoid valves as an assembly with set plate.
- Each solenoid is marked to match mark on solenoid set plate. Solenoids are not interchangeable. If solenoid is being replaced, ensure new solenoid has same marking as solenoid being replaced.
